A pair of massive stone skulls stand as welcome or warning to those who seek to enter the Viking Capital. Perched high on a hill, the Capital is protected by a defensive gauntlet, built by seasoned warriors to stop attackers from reaching their most valued haven.
Few have ever made it in to the Viking citadel, and none have made it out.
The gauntlet serves as the last defense for any major location. But instead of a fortress meant to repel invaders, it is a giant trap meant to wipe out invaders. The entrance into the base is where the invaders come in, expecting defenders to immediately strike back. The gatehouse sits above the entrance and overlooks the killing field. Once attackers are in the killing field, defenders surround and attack from the city entrance through the inner pit. Sitting above the killing fields are a number of buildings including the aforementioned gate house and a bunker. These two structures can be accessed from the killing field by various ladders and by each other via the inner ramparts and the sea wall. Be warned as these bridges are drawbridges with trap doors. One will simply drop you into the inner pit but the other two will drop you into oblivion.
In Dominion, the attacking army has arrived, cautiously making their way through the surprisingly quiet fortress. Unbeknownst to them, the defending army is watching. The defenders give the signal and they attack, archers on the sea wall opening fire and soldiers charging into battle.
